Always inspired by “Places and Spaces” Balzac Projects finds inspiration for new prints, patterns and products in the collections from travels, friends and every-day life. Among the new products for the main line this season, we found inspiration think of a weekend in the sun – Swim Trunks, Sun faded Denim shirts and Safari Jackets - reflecting to create a look when the traveller leaves the city and goes away for the weekend. A lot of new prints were also inspired by elements of decor or people met in all the countries and cities we visited – Parrot, Buena Notte Tokyo, Little Havana, vintage prints, hotels and street signs. Some of the prints are also updated versions of already existing prints to ensure that Balzac Projects’ collections remain fresh and groundbreaking yet with roots in the classic prints.
Finally, Spring/Summer 16 collection welcomes the summer weekends and simply bringing street style, no matter what you do.
In 2016 Balzac Projects collaborates with Will Broome to release one sweatshirt and one tee with Balzac Projects design and Will Broomes famous artwork.
We got to know Will in the startup of Balzac Projects and we did a very limited edition collab and it sold out instantly. I remember that I didn’t get one for myself. When we a couple of years later has grown as a brand I thought that why don’t we contact Will and see what he is up to. I refreshed Wills memory about our concept and Will told me that he would have something ready for me the next day. That’s how easy Will is to work with and the result is amazing.
Will Broome has worked for Marc by Marc Jacobs, Gucci, Missoni, Vans and Hugo Boss. He has exhibited in London and Paris, and sold to private collectors in New York, Paris, London and Copenhagen. Amongst others, Will also have been featured in POP magazine, Dazed & Confused, Wallpaper and I-D.
